Songwriter and Arkansas Private Investigator, Mark Taylor, Teams with Truck It Records’ Joey Holiday for Another Hit Song

The Taylor Company’s Mark R. Taylor, private investigator and analyst, has teamed with Truck It Records’ recording artist, Joey Holiday, for the third time to create what XM Radio’s Dave Nemo describes as “a masterpiece”.

Holiday and Taylor teamed up for the previously released “American Truckers at War”, which chronicled Taylor’s experiences as a convoy commander in Iraq and “Ode to Juan and Moe”, a YouTube hit that warned of the dangers of the Mexican Truck Pilot Program. When Holiday approached Taylor to write a song about outlaw truckers, Taylor had personal inspiration and “Three Licenses, Four Logbooks and a Thermos Made of Chrome” is the result.

His father-in-law, Jim “Skyhawk” Rodgers was an “outlaw trucker” of days gone by. The 1970s were a time of “Smokey and the Bandit” and “Convoy” and “Skyhawk” lived the part. Taylor said of “Skyhawk”, “He was a colorful character who fit the mold to a tee. Holding licenses from Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois, he relished the life of a trucker when the highways were more like the wild, wild, west compared to the rules and regulations we have in the industry today.”

Taylor is no stranger to the trucking industry. With a career that spans over twenty years from a trucking company owner/operator to a convoy commander in Iraq, his expertise in the field has made The Taylor Company, based in Bradley County, Arkansas, “the trucking investigators”.

“Three Licenses, Four Logbooks and a Thermos Made of Chrome” is an emotion-filled ballad that became an instant hit after its premier on The Dave Nemo Show on XM Satellite Radio. Holiday’s CD, “Joey Holiday – Outlawed” can be pre-ordered at www.joeyholiday.com/music.

A Day in the Weekend of a PI

While I sometimes never know from minute to minute what the day may bring, I do try to leave Sundays “open” for church and a little R&R. However, it was not the case this morning as the internet rumor mill was exploding with a lone story about a supposed takeover of two Texas ranches by Los Zetas – a Mexican gang from Nuevo Laredo and some very bad dudes.

The story itself raised red flags with me as the original stories were filled with “unnamed sources” and little detail. With the help of some great friends in the internet realm, Texas Fred at the top of the list, we quickly and efficiently put it to rest as a hoax. This was done before I finished my first pot of coffee. I choose not to give those who originally posted the story the hits, but for now, it is easily located on a Google search.

As I wind down the weekend and prepare for the week ahead, the word that sticks in my mind is “integrity”. It is often too tempting to take the “easy” way out, whether you are an investigator or a writer (I am both). A sensational story with an eye-catching headline and little verification can grow legs and run away from you if you aren’t careful.

BOLO – Adnan el Shukrijumah

Nearly four years ago on our former blog, American Truckers at War, Mark and I wrote the following piece. As Adnan el Shukrijumah’s name has begun to pop it’s ugly head up in the news again, I thought I’d repost here for our new readers.

Featured on America’s Most Wanted in May, June and September 2004, Adnan el Shukrijumah – aka Jafar the Pilot – is wanted by the FBI (view the FBI alert here: (http://www.fbi.gov/terrorinfo/elshukrijumah.htm) for questioning regarding terrorist activities. Shukrijumah has eluded authorities and blended into the general population.

Shukrijumah is a chameleon, able to change his appearance in order to evade capture. Using alias such as Adnan G. el Shukri Jumah, Abu Arif, Ja’far Al-Tayar, Jaffar Al-Tayyar, Jafar Tayar, Jaafar Al-Tayyar, he is the son of the late Guishair el Shukrijumah. A native of Guyana, Guishair worked in Saudi Arabia for 27 years as an expatriate employee before moving his family to the United States in 1986. According to his June 13, 2004, obituary, Guishair led a New York City mosque attended by at least one of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing suspects before retiring to Florida.

Federal officials began exploring links between Adnan el Shukrijumah and Jose Padilla, a former Floridian arrested in 2003 for allegedly plotting to detonate a radioactive bomb.

Adnan el Shukrijumah was born in Guyana on August 4, 1975, the son of 44 year old Guishair a radical Muslim cleric and his 16 year old wife. After leaving Saudi Arabia, the family lived in Brooklyn where the father was Imam of the Farouq Mosque, known as a recruiting station for al Qaeda. Upon moving to Florida, where the father was spiritual leader of the radical Hajah Mosque and Imam of the Boca Ration Islamic Center, the younger el Shukrijumah befriended Padilla, as well as Imran Mandai, who was convicted of attempting to blow up nuclear power plants in Florida and Moessa Shuyeb Jojham, arrested for plotting to blow up Jewish community centers and businesses.

Attending flight schools in Florida and Norman, Oklahoma, along with Mohammed Atta and other 9-11 terrorists, he became a skilled commercial jet pilot. It is also noted that, after meeting with Al Qaeda officials in Panama, he obtained an associates degree in computer engineering from Broward Community College.

Shukrijumah attracted the attention of the FBI in March 2001 after special agents in Miami began an investigation of the Danul Uloom Institute and Islamic Training center in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Imran Mandai stated his terrorist cell would target electric substations, Jewish institutions and other high-value targets.

Debka, the internet outlet for Israeli intelligence, states that Shukrijumah was under surveillance in Canada regarding the disappearance of 180 pounds of nuclear material from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. A spokesman for McMaster University declined to comment on the case to the Canada Free Press. However, they denied any knowledge of al Qaeda on their campus or the disappearance of radioactive material, although Shukrijumah’s appearance in the area has been verified and the school had experienced radioactive leakage.

There is growing concern over an extended stay in Mexico by Shukrijumah and his activities there in 2004. Shukrijumah has been named by several captured al Qaeda operatives as being involved in possible nuclear attacks on the United States. In August, 2004, he was spotted in the northern Mexican province of Sonora near “terrorist alley“, the main passage way for illegal aliens, OTMs (other than Mexican) and special interest aliens.

Shukrijumah speaks English and carries a Guyanese passport, but may attempt to enter the United States with a Saudi, Canadian, or Trinidadian passport. He has traveled extensively to Canada, Mexico and the Middle East. According to a press statement released by the Saudi Embassy on September 5, 2004, el Shukrijumah is not a Saudi Arabian citizen, as had been reported in the initial alerts. They further state that if he is traveling on a Saudi passport, it has been obtained illegally.

The FBI issued a BOLO (be on the look out) for Shukrijumah on March 20, 2003 and there is a five million dollar reward for his capture. According to the Washington Post, March 21, 2003,

The FBI called Adnan G. El Shukrijumah, 27, an “imminent threat to U.S. citizens and interests” who is “suspected of planning terrorist activities.” A senior law enforcement official described him as a possible terrorism organizer in the style of Mohamed Atta, the suspected ringleader of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. But authorities said they have no details on what kind of plot he might be involved in.

Famed Pakistani journalist, Hamid Mir, in an interview with Al Arabya.net, in September, 2006, stated “that bin Laden has assigned a man named Adnan Al-Shukri Juma to carry out a new attack within the US which is intended to be larger than the 11 September, 2001 attacks. According to Mir, Adnan Jumaa has smuggled explosives and nuclear materials into the US through the Mexican border over the last two years and is hiding somewhere in America where the FBI has not been able to locate him.“

There has been a renewed interest in the capture of Shukrijumah, in part thanks to CNN Headline News host and radio talk show personality, Glenn Beck, and Hamid Mir, who appeared on Beck’s CNN program in September.

The fact that this dangerous man has been able to elude law enforcement officials in the United States and other countries is alarming and the ease at which one crosses the US/Mexican border, in addition to the very real threat of terrorist operatives such as Shukrijumah, should have the country on alert. Our government must work to seal the borders in order to thwart the growing threat of nuclear and bioterrorist attacks upon this country.

It is also the responsibility of each American to report any suspicious activities and possible sightings of Shukrijumah to their local FBI office. This individual is considered highly dangerous and should not be approached or confronted.

Our enemy is not only in the Middle East. According to the FBI, Hamid Mir and countless other sources, it is living among us.

The truck approached Chicago in the early morning light much like any of the thousands of big rigs that travel Interstate 80 on a daily basis. Hauling food, materials and life’s necessities and luxuries, it went unnoticed as it, and its load of potentially deadly chlorine, slowly headed into rush hour traffic.

 

The driver had his credentials in check when he picked up the load – he had gone through the hazardous materials training offered by the small company for which he drove. With no criminal record, he easily passed the Transportation Safety Administration’s background check to get the treasured “haz-mat” endorsement on his commercial driver’s license. His association with his local mosque was never disclosed; his real intent, a mission begun at the time of his application with the trucking company a year prior, known only to him. With unsuspecting commuters sat in the rush hour traffic going into the city and a quiet whisper of “Allahu Akbar,” the truck driver pushed the button on the detonator. The explosive rigged to the sleeper exploded in with a sharp, deafening roar, tearing open the back of the trailer. Clemmons is not the first…

Maurice Clemmons, the “person of interest” being sought in the shootings in Lakewood, Washington, this weekend, is not the first violent offender pardoned by then Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, to return to a life of crime.  Clemmons has forever destroyed the lives of four families when he should have been in jail right here in Arkansas.
